Sound Therapy comprises one piece of our integrated approach to Central Nervous System (CNS) health. It is the least expensive method for improving performance in a short period of time. When activities (such as those performed in our in-office sound therapy intensives) are performed while using the Integrated Listening Systems (iLs) sound therapy system, performance improvement can be seen in as little as a week, but generally, spreading the training over 30-60 days of home use (with or without activities) is required to prevent overstimulation or agitation.
Qeeg results (Quantitative electroencephalography-also called brain mapping) before and after iLs Focus use demonstrate improved coherence (communication between various areas of the brain). The functional results are also excellent. Symptoms related to hyperactivity, fatigue (when it is not a result of burnout), depression, anxiety, cravings and other disorders of the CNS can diminish or disappear entirely. We have found that for performance issues related to head trauma and stroke, sound therapy is particularly effective when used in accordance with instructions.
“ After getting the results of my [post-sound therapy] check-up and actually seeing the comparison [before and after] on the computer screen in front of me, I could see the improvements in my [Qeeg results] were really obvious. They … were so overwelmingly improved. Since having the treament, people have told me that I seem more like my old self….” Steven C. C., San Jose, CA
Children who experience bed-wetting, thumb-sucking, and emotional maturity below their physical age also respond well to sound therapy.
The reason this is normally part of our integrated approach is because often, coherence isn’t the only issue related to symptoms. If an individual does the sound therapy and overstimulation/agitation results or if there are excellent results that diminish after the training, one should consider contacting us about our integrated approach. Basically, by renting a sound therapy system, you are by-passing the initial consulting costs and testing to see if sound therapy alone will alleviate the symptoms. If overstimulation, agitation or training loss occurs, neurotransmitter testing and a Qeeg (and possibly other testing) will be used to get a better picture of what is needed for an individual to perform more optimally.
What does it take to rent a sound therapy system?
· Completing a phone consult to ensure sound therapy would not be contraindicated and to find out the best protocol for your situation.
· Signing a rental contract that includes payment information, a waiver form, and an Unlicensed Health Care Provider Disclosure Form.
· With the completion of the rental process, the unit can be released to you and a weekly fee is charged automatically for the rental until it is returned.
We also sell iLs Focus units.
Renting vs. Buying an iLs Focus
Short Term Rental is Ideal for Those Who:
* Have the discipline to do the training for 1 hour daily, 6 days a week. * Want to see a demonstration of the system performance before they buy. * Want ongoing support during the training period.
Renting the unit costs less than half the purchase price, as long as you complete the training (30 sessions) in a 5 week period. 99% of our clients only do 1 round of auditory training and get fabulous results, so unless you want to use the system on an on-going basis, renting is the most economical solution.
Buying a Unit is Ideal for Those Who:
* Want to use the system yearly or at other intervals to reap additional benefits. * Want to complete the training at their own convenience or use the system with the entire family. * Will not need ongoing support beyond 2 hours of initial consult and equipment training.
If there are other neurodevelopmental considerations (such as autism) that require periodic or on-going training, then buying a unit is most economical solution. But renting the unit for a week to try it out may be useful.
